His N Hers 2 is a feminist collage made with vintage magazines using a simple cut-out juxtaposition to highlight the contradictions of modern masculinity and the continuing implicit requirement for men to be aggressive. The work combines the suave and the hostile and the text hints at the rise of the ‘strong man’ in international politics as evidenced by the rise of Trump, Putin, and Erdogan. Intended to provoke discussion about gender performance and relate the problems of gender stereotyping to the men’s as well as the women’s movement.
