Description
Famous Fishermen of Hastings
Famous Fishermen of Hastings is a collage made with archive photographs and photographs taken on location by Julia Andrews-Clifford. Inspired by the unsung heroes of the fishing community in Hastings, this work sets out to celebrate these unknowns and provide them with a kind of ‘blue plaque’ for tourists and locals to appreciate the history of their dangerous and low-paid work. The original photomontage hangs in The Fisherman’s Museum, Hastings Old Town. This is a limited edition of 1/25 printed in giclee, taken from an original photomontage and signed by the artist. This cut and paste mixed media is signed by Julia Andrews-Clifford and is part of the Collectives collection (2016).
